Tree Removal Done the Right Way
Removing a tree safely takes a lot more than a chainsaw. It takes a real assessment of the tree’s condition and lean, a plan for how to bring it down without hitting anything, the right equipment for the situation, and a crew trained to handle whatever the tree does on the way down. We approach every removal the same way: walk the site, identify the hazards, pick the safest method, execute carefully, clean up completely.
Most removals we do fall into one of three categories. Straightforward removals- where there’s open space around the tree- get felled in one piece. Tighter situations call for sectional dismantling, where a climber takes the tree apart from the top down, rigging each section so it comes down where we want it. The toughest jobs- trees over houses, trees in tight backyards, trees that are too damaged to climb safely- get a crane-assisted removal, where we lift sections cleanly out of the danger zone.
Is Stump Grinding Included?
At Dixon Trees, stump grinding comes with the removal. We don’t make you book a separate appointment or pay a separate company to come out and finish what we started. Once the tree is down, we grind the stump below grade as part of the same job, leaving the area ready for grass, sod, or whatever landscaping you have planned.
Grinding below the surface means the spot won’t sprout new growth, won’t trip anyone walking through the yard, and won’t sit there as a magnet for termites and carpenter ants. The chips can be left on-site as mulch or hauled away with the rest of the debris- your call.
Note: stump grinding is offered only as part of a tree removal job. We don’t book stump grinding as a standalone service. If you need an old stump ground out that wasn’t from a Dixon Trees removal, we can talk about it during your estimate, but it’s not something we do separately.
When a Tree Needs to Come Down
Some situations are obvious. Others aren’t. Common reasons we get called for tree removal in Lexington and the surrounding Midlands include:
